Linear Grooved Acoustic Panels

Murano Grooved Acoustic Panels

Murano Grooved Acoustic Panels by Sontext combine natural timber warmth with outstanding sound absorption. Designed for architects and designers who value clean lines and acoustic performance, these panels offer a refined linear look ideal for walls and ceilings in commercial, educational, and cultural spaces.

Architectural Style with Acoustic Performance

Each panel features precisely machined grooves that scatter and absorb sound effectively. The groove spacing, depth, and profile can be customised to meet specific design and acoustic requirements. When used with an acoustic backing or air cavity, Murano Grooved Panels can achieve an NRC between 0.60 and 0.85.

Finishes and Materials

Murano panels are crafted using MDF or plywood cores and finished in timber veneer, laminate, or painted coatings. This combination delivers a consistent, architectural appearance while ensuring superior acoustic performance. Fire-rated options are available on request.

Applications

Murano Grooved Acoustic Panels are suited to a wide variety of environments including offices, boardrooms, lecture theatres, performing arts centres, and hospitality interiors. Their sleek linear design provides both sound control and visual sophistication.

Fire-rated MDF and compliant finishes can be specified to meet Australian building standards

Can these panels be installed on ceilings?

Yes. Murano Grooved Panels can be mounted on walls or ceilings using concealed fixing systems for a seamless appearance.

Murano Linear Grooved Acoustic Panels are designed to reduce reverberation, enhance the sound quality in a space, and add a sophisticated, dynamic dimension to the interior décor. These highly engineered panels have an MDF backing that may also be perforated independently to allow sound to pass through and be dissipated. All perforated Murano acoustic timber panels are manufactured with a distinctive “non-see-through” black SoundTex acoustic felt attached to the back. This backing also helps to stop dust falling thorough the panel holes and can contribute to the acoustic performance.

Seamless finish

Murano Linear Grooved Acoustic Panels feature a concealed joining system that provides a continuous, uninterrupted look to installed wall and ceiling linings. This innovative joining system not only ensures the panels are easy to install but also enables a seamless transition between each installed panel.

Our team can assist and make recommendations on which acoustic solution and finish best suits your project.
